Shutters
Shutters are an excellent insulator for any home, shielding against the heat during summer months and keeping warmth in during winter. They provide easy control for light and privacy while their versatility serves nearly every decor preference so they will never go out of style. Due to their durability and easy maintenance, shutters can last for many years and be refinished down the line for a new lifespan. We also recommend shutters for windows with unique shapes because they are so customizable.
Shutters as Unique as Your Home
Plantation shutters are the most common choice for the timeless style and easy maintenance they offer. Modern look shutters feature a hidden tilt rod or clearview and the result is a streamlined appearance, while traditional shutters have a visible tilt rod on the front. Windows come in many shapes and sizes, which poses a challenge for many homeowners but we can customize your shutters to any shape and size needed. For added attention to detail, we can also match the basswood shutters to your home’s moulding in most cases. This detail is not commonly offered and Shutter World is proud to have it as an option in the customization process. At Shutter World, we offer the highest quality basswood with lacquer painted or stained finish and aluminum reinforced polycore shutters at competitive prices.
Shutters are a big investment and the result is added value to your home that can last for years. It’s important to care for your shutters properly to keep them clean so they will last a lifetime. After every installation our team provides the specific care instructions for the shutters but general cleaning for all shutters is quite simple.
For general cleaning, use a feather duster or dust trapping cloth like a Swiffer Duster on the shutters. You can also use a soft brush vacuum attachment for dusting. For spots that can’t be removed with a feather duster, spray Simple Green or a non-toxic biodegradable cleaner on a damp cloth and clean the shutters making sure to thoroughly dry them. Stained wood shutters require furniture oil applied when needed to keep them looking beautiful for years to come.
